The Little Hawkeye Conference, arguably the most difficult softball conference in the state, has announced the 2015 All-Conference Teams.
Oskaloosa had six honorees on the first and second teams, which was good enough for second in the conference behind Dallas Center-Grimes.
On the first team, sophomore pitcher Alexis Groet, sophomore second baseman Aubrey Miller, and junior Kylee Silliman were listed as First Teamers. Silliman was listed under the utility category.
On the second team, Oskaloosa was represented by sophomore catcher Alexis Westercamp, freshman outfielder Anna Jones, and senior first baseman Bethany Rowley, who was listed under the utility category.
Sophomore Alexis Vroegh and senior Peyton Zickefoose were also listed under the honorable mention squad.
The Little Hawkeye Conference was very tough all year, and the conference title was won by Norwalk with a 10-1 record. Oskaloosa finished in second at 8-3, and were the only team to defeat Norwalk. In terms of the postseason, Pella Christian, Oskaloosa, and Norwalk all fell short in their attempts to make it to state, but Dallas Center-Grimes got through their region and Pella was a surprising regional winner as they upset #2 Indianola, a future member of the LHC.
The state tournament begins in Fort Dodge next Monday, July 20th.
