A driver was killed in crash after he crashed into the back of a semi, according to to troopers.

The crash was reported Thursday night at 11:17 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 34, in Albia.

An Iowa State Patrol crash report shows a 1995 Chevy Sportvan collided with the back of a semi driven by Larry Kirscher, 42, of Osceola, when the semi was slowing to make its stop at the intersection.

The van driver’s name has not yet been released pending notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation.
