A man from Fairfield was killed in a one vehicle accident over the weekend south of Ottumwa.  The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Jose Santos-Jiminez was driving southeasterly on Rabbit Run Road near the intersection of 120^th Avenue just after midnight Saturday when his vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole.  Santos-Jiminez died from his injuries.  Passenger 18-year-old Emerson Rauda Torres of Ottumwa was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center with injuries.  The Sheriff’s Office says excessive speed was a significant factor in the accident.
