Oskaloosa man arrested after holding another man at gunpoint

A rural Oskaloosa man is facing several charges after allegedly holding another man at gunpoint.  Around 12:30 Sunday afternoon (10/14), Mahaska County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on 248th Street about a disturbance.  Deputies later learned that a man was holding another man at gunpoint.  When a Deputy arrived, the suspect had fled in a vehicle.  A short time later, Sheriff’s Deputies and Oskaloosa Police found the vehicle in the 1800 block of A Avenue East.  18-year-old Jacob Michael Mason was taken into custody.  During the traffic stop, law enforcement found a semi-automatic rifle, a loaded gun magazine, what’s believed to be meth and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Mason is charged with going armed with intent, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia.
