The Oskaloosa’s girls’ basketball team opened its season last night (11/20) with a 57-47 loss to Centerville.  The Indians trailed by 15 in the third quarter, but rallied to tie the game at 43-all with 3:12 to play.  Indians Coach Jacie White was happy with the comeback.

“That was good for us.  I mean, we had girls flying all across the floor and that’s what we wanted.  It really came down to late game situation.  We really haven’t been in a lot of those…in close games.  Some inexperience caught up with us there, but we definitely were in the game.”

Senior Marleigh Denburger had 12 points to lead the Indians.  Oskaloosa’s next game is next Tuesday (11/27) at home against Fairfield.
