OSKALOOSA BASKETBALL TAKES ON PELLA TONIGHT

Oskaloosa basketball takes on Pella tonight

Oskaloosa’s boys’ basketball team looks to get back on the winning track tonight (12/21) when they host Pella. The Indians’ seven game winning streak was snapped Tuesday night (12/18) at Norwalk.  Oskaloosa Coach Ryan Parker talks about what went wrong on Tuesday.

“We got no paint touches. We’ve got 6’10” (Cole Henry), 7 foot (Xavier Foster) down low and we didn’t get the ball down there.   Only one of our first ten possessions did the ball end up even getting into the paint at one point.  So we just settled for open jumpers.  They were open, we weren’t forcing anything, we just weren’t making any and our strong suit is down low.”

Not only is tonight’s game a local rivalry, Oskaloosa is ranked first in the state in the Associated Press Class 3A rankings, while Pella is ranked tenth.

The Oskaloosa/Pella matchup is a boys’ and girls’ doubleheader, with the Indians girls on a two game winning streak.  You can hear both games tonight on KBOE-FM.  Our live coverage starts at 6, with the girls’ game at 6:15 and the boys’ game at around 7:45.
