The 2019 Billboard Music Awards hit Las Vegas last night, and it was a great night for music fans.
Luke Combs was the big country winner taking home three awards, including Top Country Artist and Top Male Artist, as well as Top Country Album for ”This One’s For You.”
Florida Georgia Line accepted the only Country award handed out during the telecast, Top Country Song for “Meant To Be,” their collaboration with Bebe Rexha. They thanked Bebe, who wasn’t there, their wives, and then Tyler Hubbard got honest with the crowd. “We’ve been on an incredible journey,” Tyler shared. “As artists, we get to experience so many unbelievable things but our opinion it’s all for nothing if your’e not using your platform for better. This creative life is bigger than ourselves.” Partner Brian Kelley then added, “This is bucket list for us, y’all.”
Other country winners included: Carrie Underwood, who nabbed Top Female Artist and Dan + Shay who won Top Country Duo/Group and also performed on the show, teaming up with Tori Kelly for their hit song “Speechless.”
