Fake money at Pella’s Tulip Time

A student at Central College is accused of spending fake money at Pella’s Tulip Time Festival.  Pella Police say 20-year-old Skylar Carlson of Oregon, Illinois was arrested last Friday (5/3) and charged with forgery, money laundering and fourth degree theft.  According to police reports, vendors reported getting 13 counterfeit bills valued at over $200.  A search of Carlson turned up about $380 in funny money; then a search of his apartment turned up another $480 in counterfeit bills.  Carlson is free on bond; he has a court appearance Thursday morning (5/9) in Marion County.
