Flooding Update

There is still a Flood Warning for the Des Moines River near Eddyville.  As of 4:15am Monday (6/3), the river was at 64.5 feet—a foot and a half above flood stage. The National Weather Service says minor flooding is occurring and is expected to continue.  And there is still extensive lowland flooding around US Highway 63 south of Eddyville and some gravel roads are flooded.

As for the Des Moines River at Ottumwa, the water level there is at 14.5 feet, as of just before 5am. That’s still three feet above flood stage.  And the North Skunk River at Sigourney has now dropped below flood stage…at 12.2 feet, it’s almost four feet below flood stage.
