There’s going to be a public hearing Wednesday night (5/8) in Ottumwa about a proposal by Alliant Electric to raise your electric and natural gas rates.  Alliant has proposed raising the base rate for residential electric customers by almost 25 percent and the base rate for natural gas customers by 25 percent—starting in 2020.  The public hearing starts at 6pm Wednesday at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa.
