Two bank robberies; one suspect.  Ethan Nelson-David Spray of Ottumwa has been charged with robbing the South Ottumwa Savings Bank in Hedrick on August 6.  Spray is also accused of robbing the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood on June 1.  Both robberies were at gunpoint by a man with a black handgun. In August, the Wapello and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Departments obtained search warrants for two residences in Ottumwa.  Those searches led to warrants to search buildings and a vehicle in Mt. Pleasant. Spray is charged with first degree robbery, which could mean a 25 year sentence if he’s convicted.
