BREAKING NEWS: Eldon Manhunt Ongoing, One Suspect Apprehended

A breaking news story involving a car chase in Wapello County. This morning, a report of shots fired in rural Wapello County was called into the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department. The call came from the Carl Thrasher residence.
When officers responded, suspects fled in a red Ford Escape. The vehicle was reported as having Muscatine county license plates. During the pursuit, officers believed the car contained four male occupants. Scanner traffic explained that the chase was involving areas that included River Road, Cemetery Road, and Old Agency Road.
Eventually, suspects abandoned the vehicle in Eldon and took off on foot. At that time, Wapello County Sheriff Officers were able to see that the suspects included three males and one female. After an on-going foot chase, one suspect was apprehended.
Officers were still working to capture remaining suspects.

Update 10:32AM: A total of three of the suspects involved in the car chase have now been captured by Wapello County Sheriff Officers. The captured suspects include two males and one female. One remaining male is still on the loose and while it is not clear if he is armed, he is considered dangerous. K-9 units and neighboring law enforcement departments are assisting with the search.
