CLASS 1A POSTSEASON BASEBALL ON THE SLATE FOR TONIGHT

Class 1A Postseason Baseball on the Slate for Tonight

Tonight is a big night for Class 1A Postseason Baseball. There are a few area teams still alive in the district semifinals, and you can hear one of them on the Mahaska Zone Network.

The Twin Cedars Sabers are the defending champs in Class 1A, and they’ll be taking on Southeast Warren tonight in Bussey. Our pregame show will start around 6:45, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 PM. Should the game be delayed or postponed due to the wet weather conditions, we will make those announcements on 104.9 FM KBOE and on 99.5 FM and AM 740 KMZN. You can also check out our Facebook pages, Mahaska Zone Network and KBOE 104.9 FM. We will also have adjustments there as well.

In other action from the area, Pekin is facing Keota in Keota tonight. Pekin rolled through Tri-County in run-rule fashion in the first round, but Keota had to go to 8 innings to get through English Valleys, 14-12, on Tuesday. Pekin should be the slim favorite in that contest.

Also tonight, Lynnville-Sully is at home looking to take out Iowa Valley, who beat North Mahaska in the first round. The final area game is Cardinal facing off against the undefeated Warriors of Van Buren. That game will be played in Keosauqua, with the Comets a huge underdog.
