Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Drive will be held at Penn Central Mall in the center court on Wednesday, February 8 at 200 High Ave. West, in Oskaloosa from 2pm to 7pm. The Mahaska Stitch-n-Quilt guild with have its monthly meeting on Thursday February 9 at 7pm at the Hizer house behind the Peppertree in Oskaloosa.  For more information contact Betty Hizer at 673-5994

The YMCA will have their 1st Annual Indoor Mini-Putt Gold Fundraiser on Friday, February 10 at Penn Central Mall. 6-10pm is open golf and from 8-10pm is fun night. On Saturday, February 11 from 10-8pm will also be open golf.

The William Penn Alumni Association is once again putting on the Green Dress Project for 2012.  The Green Dress Project is designed for families that are unable to afford a prom dress for their daughters. The Green Dress project open house will be  Saturday, February 11 9:30am – 2:00 pm and Thursday February 23,  4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Musco Technology Center.  Dresses will be sold for $10 each.  For more information contact Amanda Hudnut at 515-978-1518 or at hudnutam@wmpenn.edu

There will be a Ham & Bean Feed featuring Ham & Bean and other varieties of soups and pie at the Pershing Community Center in Pershing Iowa on Sunday February 12 from 4pm to 6pm. Free will donation accepted.

The Cedar Livestock 4-H Club will hold a spaghetti dinner Sunday, February 12th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Fremont Community Center. A free will offering will be taken.

Oskaloosa Christian School Bids for Kids 2012 Auction and Bake Sale will be held Friday February 17 in the school gym. The silent auction will begin at 3 and go until 6:15pm with the live auction beginning at 6:45 pm. Baked goods will be on sale from 3pm until gone. A meal of maidrite, walking taco or hot dog with side will be served from 5-6:30pm, with tickets being purchased at the door. Complete details can be found at www.oscibidsforkids.webs.com

The Mahaska Amateur Radio Club will host its 24th annual Amateur Radio Swapmeet on Saturday, March 17 at the American Legion Hall located on 302 High Avenue East. Admission is by donation and tables may be rented for $5 each. The Gene Van Wyk Memorial 5K Run/Walk is Saturday at 9:00 a.m. starting and ending at the Pella Christian High School, 300 Eagle Lane in Pella.  Participants receive free:  t-shirt (if pre-registered), goodie bag, chance for great door prizes, access to showers, and post-race party with free breakfast!  Families and strollers are welcome; there are "support laps" for those who do not wish to run/walk the entire 5K.  Visit www.genevanwyk.com for full details and online registration.

Pella Regional Health Center will hold an Adult Grief Support Group with Coffee, Conversation and Comfort on the 2nd Tuesday of month, from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Lower Level of Comfort House... No reservation is necessary and this event is free and open to the public.

The Eddyville Historical Museum presents BINGO at the Eddyville American Legion on Walnut Street.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with BINGO from 6:30-9:00 p.m.  BINGO is held the first Thursday of each month.

The Oskaloosa Free Clinic provides basic medical services for Mahaska County residents without health insurance or other means of health coverage. Open the first and third Tuesday of each month, there are a limited number of patient appointments available. At 5:30 pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month numbers will be drawn randomly to determine who will be seen that evening. The Free Clinic is located at the Medical Specialty Center on the north side of the MHP campus, entrance #4.
