Oskaloosa High School's Night of Jazz will be held Friday, March 27th at the George Daily Auditorium. This Year's performance will feature six local jazz bands: William Penn University Jazz Band, North Mahaska Jazz, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Jazz, Oskaloosa Middle School Jazz, Oskaloosa Jazz Lab, and Oskaloosa Jazz Ensemble. The Oskaloosa Girl Scouts will sponsor a dessert auction on Saturday, March 28th in center court of Penn Central Mall. The auction begins at noon, and will continue until all desserts have been sold. Individuals and businesses wishing to donate desserts to Girl Scouts for the event should bring those items to the mall's center court beginning at 11 am on the day of the event.
Leighton Lions Spring Pancake Breakfast will be held Saturday, March 28th from 6:30 to 9 am. Serving all you can eat pancakes, with sausage and eggs at the Christian Reformed Church in Leighton. Proceeds are for Keith Beintema who is recovering from Cancer.
Holy Week worship schedule this week at St. James Episcopal Church, at 207 South 3rd Street in Oskaloosa is as follows: Holy Communion will be held Palm Sunday, March 29th at 9 am, Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 5:30 pm, and Easter Sunday, April 5th... There will be no communion on Good Friday, April 3rd.
The Mahaska Community Development Group (MCDG) and YMCA will host a public input meeting at 9 am, 11:30 am, and 6 pm, Monday, March 30, in Penn Central Mall in the suite across from Label Shopper. The two-hour session will be aimed at defining what key indoor recreation and child care facilities and programs need to be maintained, revamped, and/or developed to serve the community.

The Mahaska County Agency on Aging is sponsoring the First Annual Floyd White Memorial Golf tournament
Saturday, May 30th, at Edmundson Golf Course. It will be a 4-Person Best Position format, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Entry fee is $50 per person, and registration is limited to 34 teams of four players. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the MCAA to continue its mission to serve senior citizens.
