A Davenport man already serving prison time for a 2014 felony conviction has been charged in a 2005 sexual assault.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says 57-year-old Luther Ronald Moore Jr. made his first appearance in Scott County Court on the new charges via video on Thursday. He is charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree sexual abuse.

If convicted, Moore faces up to life in prison. He’s set to be arraigned on the charges Oct. 1.

Police say Moore was charged after a DNA sample he was required to submit as an inmate matched DNA collected at the scene of the 2005 attack. Police say a Davenport woman was raped in her home, forced to drive her assailant to a bank to get money, then raped again.
