On this day in 1967, Gary Allan was born in La Mirada, California, to Harley and Mary Herzberg. Allan got his big break in the country music industry while selling cars. After leaving a demo tape of a glove compartment he sold to a wealthy couple, the couple wrote him a check to get his career going after discovering he was the voice on the tape.
