An investigation by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office determined a reported sexual assault didn’t happen.  Last Thursday (10/18), the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint by a 13-year-old boy from Fremont. The boy said he’d been sexually assaulted at his home by a 23-year-old woman three weeks earlier.  During the investigation, Sheriff’s officials interviewed the boy a second time and he admitted to making up the story.  The boy has been charged with filing a false report of an indictable offense to a law enforcement agency.  That is a serious misdemeanor and it has been filed with juvenile authorities.
