FATAL ACCIDENT OCCURS IN RURAL JASPER COUNTY WEDNESDAY MORNING

Fatal Accident Occurs In Rural Jasper County Wednesday Morning

On June 8th, 2016 at approximately 07:38, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a motor vehicle accident involving a car and truck, located at the intersection of N 83rd Ave E and W 84th St N, Kellogg, IA. Callers reported that the truck was on fire, however the three occupants were able to exit the vehicle. Callers further reported that two subjects were trapped in the passenger car.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Kellogg Fire and EMS and Newton Fire and Paramedics responded to the scene. Life Flight Medical Helicopter and Mid West Ambulance from Grinnell were also requested to assist.

The two subjects in the passenger car were extricated and provided medical care. The three subjects in the truck were also provided medical care.

The driver of the passenger car, identified as Trenton Brady, age 16, of rural Kellogg, was later pronounced dead at the scene. The other four injured subjects were transported to local medical facilities for treatment. The names of the other subjects are currently being held pending the investigation.

The Iowa State Patrol was requested to help with the accident investigation.
