KUM AND GO ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

Kum And Go Robbery Suspect Arrested

On March 3, 2016 at approximately 5:50 a.m., the Ottumwa Police Department responded to the Kum and Go Station, located at 534 Church Street, on a report of a Robbery that had just occurred.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect was a white male. The suspect entered the station and threatened the clerk with a handgun. The suspect removed the cash drawer from the register and left the area on foot southbound in the alley between Moore and Sheridan Streets.

At approximately 10:08 a.m., the Ottumwa Police Department located Timothy William Michal Fortney, age 19, at 901 E. Williams in Ottumwa. Fortney was arrested and charged with Violation of a Restraining Order, from an unrelated incident.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., police charged Fortney with Robbery 2nd Degree, a Class ā€œCā€ Felony, in relation to the incident that occurred at the Kum and Go. Fortney does not have a current address.

Fortney is being held in the Wapello County Jail with no bond due to the Violation of Restraining Order charge.
