Little Hawkeye Wrestling Conference Results

Oskaloosa crowned three individual Little Hawkeye Conference wrestling champions on Saturday… Drew Sams at 132, Jason Beebe at 170 and Callan Tomlin at 220.  Josh Diehl, Talon Munger, Kaia Graham and Tyson Breuklander each finished 4th and Brady Beerbower and Zaian Mamun both finished fifth. Lane Milner and Jake Simon won titles for Grinnell, and Keegan Poole won the heavyweight title for Pella.   It was a tight team race all day between D-C-G and Norwalk but in the end D-C-G claimed the team title by 9.5 points over Norwalk,  followed by Newton, Grinnell, Oskaloosa and Pella.

Albia’s Carter Isley became just the third wrestler ever to win four Southern Iowa Classic championships as he claimed the heavyweight title Saturday. Tyler Landgrebe of Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont won the title at 106,  Dakota Boyer of E-B-F was the champion at 138, Dylan Henderson of Davis County won the title at 170, and Travis Poffenbarger of Knoxville claimed the title at 220 .

Sigourney Keota won the South Iowa Cedar League Tournament convincingly,  Tri County/Montezuma finished 3rd,  Lynnville Sully was 4th, and North Mahaska finished 6th.  Luke House,  Lane Boender, and Noah Boender each won championships for the Savage Cobras as did  Jarrett Stodghill of North Mahaska.  Tyler Strasser of North Mahaska,  Travis Lewis of Tri County Montezuma, Carson Dunsbergen and Sage Zylstra of Lynnville Sully, and Alec Schuster,  Kaleb Reeves and Zeb Webb of Sigourney Keota each   finished 2nd.

Ottumwa finished 10th of 18 teams at the CIML Invite.  Southeast Polk won the meet followed by Valley and Fort Dodge.  Isaiah Cox finished 2nd at 182 losing a close 6-5 decision in the finals, Wyatt Schlotter finished 3rd at 152, and Alec Clark  at 120 and Tyler Bookin-Nosbisch at heavyweight both finished 4th.

Pekin finished 7th and Cardinal 10th at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament.  Dakota Miller of Cardinal finished 2nd at 145,  Pekin’s Kaden Baker was 2nd at 160,  Ethan Cooksey finished 3rd at 170,  Clayton Greiner and Drake Harbison each finished 4th as did Will Gonzalez-Tapeti of Cardinal.
