This morning (12/3), the Mahaska County Board approved an agreement with Monroe County to share the services of engineer Jeremiah Selby on a part-time basis.  Selby would work for Mahaska County at least one day a month.  He is filling in after Mahaska County Engineer David Shanahan resigned last month. Mahaska County Board Chair Willy Van Weelden says the County hasn’t started to look for a new full-time engineer.

The County Board also began discussing changes in funding for the County employees’ health plan.  Rates haven’t changed since 2014.  The Board agreed to meet with Brad Ryman, the County’s health insurance agent to discuss possible changes.
