Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office Releases Name Of Man Who Drowned

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a Rose Hill man who drowned Wednesday at his home southeast of Rose Hill. H. Earl Stout, 77, was the drowning victim. On Wednesday, June 3, around 12:11 p.m., the Mahaska County E911 Center received a call from a woman who said that she could not locate her husband, who had been mowing.

The mower was located in the pond at the residence at 3234 235th St., Rose Hill. Stout’s body was located near the mower by rescue personnel. The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, the What Cheer Fire Department, and the Oskaloosa Fire Department were involved in the water rescue attempt.
