Terry Petary, the man charged with vehicular homicide after he hit and killed Merlin Beechy(9) in June, is now facing new charges.  The new set of charges includes vehicular homicide, causing serious injury by vehicle, leaving the scene of of an accident, possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of an accident that causes death and failure to report an accident.  There are several types of vehicular homicide charges, and the one filed against Petary applies when the person behind the wheel is no under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  The vehicular homicide charge is a Class C felony.
