Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force Execute A Drug Search Warrant

On April 7th, 2016 at approximately 12:00 p.m. members of the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force with the assistance of the Grinnell Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office K-9, executed a drug search warrant at 1113 Spring St in Grinnell where illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.

As a result of the search warrant one individual was taken to the Poweshiek County Jail on drug charges and one individual was taken to Grinnell Regional Medical Center on drug related injuries. Joy Lynn Harland age 37 of that residence was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, failure to affix drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. Harland is currently being held in the Poweshiek County Jail on a $30,000 bond. Jeremy Joe Wyatt age 38 of Cedar Rapids was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and will make his initial appearance at a later date.

During the execution of the search warrant it was discovered that three children under the age of 18 were living in the home. The children were removed from the home and are now under the supervision and protection of the Iowa Department of Human Services.

As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force is based in Des Moines and currently has 21 central Iowa local, county, state and federal agencies participating in the task force.
