Miranda Lambert is teaming up with one of her longtime music video collaborators, Trey Fanjoy, to work on a new feature film titled Something in the Water. According to Deadline, Miranda will take on the role of the executive music producer to oversee the film’s music curation and will also write an original song for its soundtrack. YouTube sensation Grace Helbig has signed on to star in the new comedy, which follows five Southern women who challenge their men to a bass fishing competition. Production for the film will take place in Nashville later this year.
- The project will mark the feature debut from director Fanjoy, who has worked with everyone from Taylor Swift to Keith Urban.
- Some of Lambert’s Fanjoy-directed videos include “Kerosene,” “The House That Built Me,” “Vice” and “Somethin” Bad” with Carrie Underwood.
