The pace of race week in Chicago picks up today with “NASCAR Chase Fest Sponsored by Toyota,” which is a free outdoor fan event that will feature all sixteen participants in this year’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and culminate with a live concert by Grammy-nominated band Three Doors Down.
The festival will take place on Weed Street between Fremont and Kingsbury Streets from 2 until 9 p.m. (local time). There’ll be autograph sessions with all sixteen drivers, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, interactive exhibits from event sponsor Sprint and a live concert by the Suburban Cowboys, one of Chicago’s top country cover bands.
From there, the action shifts to Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois – site of Sunday’s My A-Fib Risk-dot-com 400 by Janssen, the opening race of the 2015 post-season Chase.
