Next Stop… Martinsville Speedway for Sunday’s Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500, the seventh race of the 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the opening event in the Eliminator Round.

For the eight drivers remaining in the title hunt, there are 1,076 “Miles-2-Miami.” The twelfth edition of the post-season Chase will conclude November 22nd at Homestead-Miami Speedway, at which time only four drivers will remain in championship contention. Right now, the original Chase Grid has been cut in half and the eight drivers left standing include three of the top five seeds: Number-2 Kyle Busch, Number-4 Joey Logano and Number-5 Kevin Harvick, the defending Sprint Cup Series champion.

They’re joined by Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Junior … Among that group, Gordon – still winless in 2015 –leads the way with eight Martinsville victories including season sweeps in 2003 and 2005. He finished ninth there earlier this season and in addition to the eight wins, Gordon has seven poles on the Virginia half-mile – the last one coming in 2008.
