Oskaloosa City Council 2-1-16

The Oskaloosa City Council met at 6 pm on Monday, February 1st.
The main event of the night focused around the swearing in of new police officer Janay Pritchett. Pritchett Graduated from William Penn and interned at the Oskaloosa Police Force before accepting a full-time job.
The meeting went to an announcement of vacancies including:
Airport Commissions
Board of Adjustments
Civil Service Commissions
Historic Preservation Commission
and the Municipal Housing Agency
The proposed 2015-2016 budget amendment and 2016-2017 budget and setting date for a public hearing was approved.
Also approved, was an application for industrial Tax Abatement for value added in the Revitalization area of 2102 South 17th Street which includes a new building for the Lumber business. An application for residential Tax Abatement was approved along with the Industrial tax abatement.
The last order of business included the approval of a user charge for providing necessary funding of the operation and maintenance of the city’s wastewater treatment works.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:15 Pm.
