Oskaloosa Girls Soccer Wins On The Road

The Oskaloosa girls’ soccer team made the most of their first road trip this season braving the cold, wind and rain in Chariton to gain a dominating 7-2 win Thursday night.

Sophomore Ashley Brockman got Osky out to a quick start pulling the hat trick with three goals in the first half to help Osky build up a 4-1 halftime lead. Brockman now has 5 goals just a week into the season. Other Osky goals were scored by Jackie Reiff, Keely Blanchard, Aleda Renter and Samantha Stearns.

The defense of Rachel Adams, Laura Van Kooten, Grace Vavra, Samantha Stearns, Mackenzie McCollum, Britney DeMooney and goal keeper Sandra Blom was solid all night giving the offense plenty of opportunities. The Oskaloosa girls, coached by Greg Walter, are now 2-1 on the season and have outscored their opponents 13-4 in their first three games, also winning 6-0 over Ottumwa Tuesday night, following a season opening 2-0 loss to Des Moines Hoover on Monday. Osky returns to action on Tuesday at Pella Christian.
