(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – On Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 the Oskaloosa Police Department filed Sexual Abuse 3rd charges on Michael Zurek, age 23, of Oskaloosa, Iowa. These charges stem from an investigation into allegations that on, or around February 2017, the defendant committed sex acts on a person he knew to be only 15 years of age at the time of the sex acts.

The defendant is currently being held in the Mahaska County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Sexual Abuse Third Degree is a class “C” felony punishable by up to ten years in a state penitentiary.

It should be noted that ta criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
