OTTUMWA MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN RURAL WAPELLO COUNTY

Ottumwa Man Arrested Following Shooting in Rural Wapello County

(WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa) – On Monday, April 16, 2018, at approximately 10:40 PM, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an individual having been shot at 17611 30th Street in rural Wapello County, several miles south of Ottumwa.

Upon arrival law enforcement confirmed a male and had been shot and had received non-life threating injuries. The victim was transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.

As a result of the investigation, deputies arrested William Dickinson, 65, of Ottumwa, Iowa. Dickinson has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Aggravated Misdemeanor. Dickinson was transported to the Wapello County Jail where was held until he was arraigned by the courts and posted bond.

Wapello County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ottumwa Police Department.

Note: This criminal charge is an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
