The National Motorsports Appeals Panel has upheld the majority of penalties that were assessed to the Number- 33 G-M-S Racing team, which competes in the Camping World Truck Series, for illegal brackets and supports found on Brandon Jones’ Chevrolet Silverado during opening-day inspection October 23rd at Talladega Superspeedway. Crew chief Shane Huffman’s suspension has been reduced from three races to two. But his ten-thousand-dollar fine, and the twenty-five championship points stripped from season totals for Jones and team owner Maurice Gallagher Junior will stand – as will Huffman’s six-month probation.
Jones finished second to Timothy Peters in the October 24th fred’s 250 … He’s among thirty-three drivers on the preliminary entry list for Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway, the next-to-last round of the 2015 season.
Rookie Erik Jones, leading the point standings, is the defending race winner on the one-mile desert oval.
