At the State High School Cross Country meet Saturday (10/27) in Fort Dodge, Oskaloosa’s Carter Huyser was 31^st in the 3A boys race and the Indians’ Lauren Coon was 55^th in 3A girls.  Also in 3A girls, Pella was sixth in the team competition, led by Makayla Kruse in 11^th place, Grinnell was ninth in team competition, with Mary Blanchard sixth overall.  In 3A boys, Pella was fifth in the team race with Josiah Wittenberg finishing sixth.  Albia was 14^th in 2A girls, led by Sherryl Mae Rowe coming in 30^th.  Albia’s boys were ninth in 2A with Landon Noe finishing eighth and teammate Brock Ratliff 13^th.  In 1A girls, Cheyenne Shaw of North Mahaska finished 11^th and Elise Boulton of Montezuma was 35^th.  And in 1A boys, Pekin was 12^th, as Brady Millikin finished 7^th and Colton Glosser was 13^th.

No swimmer from Oskaloosa qualified for state in Saturday’s regional meet.  Senior Veronica Bolibaugh set a school record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58 point 58 seconds.
