On this day in 1989, George Strait received a Gold Album for Beyond The Blue Neon. The album was released by MCA Records in February earlier in the year. Beyond The Blue Neon produced three #1 hits with “Baby’s Gotten Good at Goodbye”, “What’s Going on in Your World”, and “Ace in the Hole.” The album would eventually be certified Platinum.
