Dan + Shay Top the Chart and Announce New Single

Dan + Shay’s single “How Not To” has taken the top spot on country charts this week, giving the duo their third consecutive No. 1 song. The duo shared their excitement in a video posted on Twitter yesterday (6/19), thanking fans and giving a shoutout to country radio for playing the tune. But Dan + Shay wasn’t just celebrating their chart-topping hit; the duo also used the momentous day announce “Road Trippin'” as their new fan-voted single.

Darius Rucker Has Raised Over $1 Million for St. Jude

After nine years of supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and their mission, Darius Rucker and his friends have passed the $1 million fundraising mark for the cause. The milestone mark was reached after Rucker held his eighth annual “Darius and Friends” benefit concert on Monday night (6/5) in Nashville, which, along with this year’s auction and golf tournament, raised $402,000 for St. Jude.

 

  • The benefit show was held at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and featured performances from Dan + Shay, Luke Combs, Michael Ray, John Oates of Hall & Oates, KISS guitarist Tommy Thay, as well as a surprise appearance from Brooks & Dunn.
  • Darius says, “I’m so grateful to all our friends who came out and donated their time to be on the show– and Brooks & Dunn for surprising me onstage! Just wow!”
  • The $402,000 raised breaks last year’s record and brings the cumulative total raised for all years to $1.2 million.

Lineup Grows for CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friends

The lineup has grown for the taping of CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friends in downtown Nashville tomorrow (6/6). Taking the outdoor stage with Earth, Wind & Fire will be newly added performers Dan + Shay, Darius Rucker, Drake White, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts and Sara Evans. These artists will join the previously announced act Lady Antebellum, who will also perform with the legendary R&B group on Wednesday (6/7) during the 2017 CMT Music Awards.

 

  • Fans are invited to attend Tuesday’s taping, which is being held on the corner of 5th and Demonbreun at 8:30 PM local time.
  • CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friendswill premiere June 23 at 10 PM ET on CMT.

Morgan Evans Signs with Warner Music Nashville

Australian singer-songwriter Morgan Evans has signed a record deal with Warner Music Nashville, meaning he’ll likely get to spend more time in Nashville with his famous fiancée, Kelsea Ballerini. To celebrate his new record deal, Evans recorded a mashup of his favorite songs by Warner Music Nashville artists, including Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell and Dan + Shay. Morgan, who has a duet with Ballerini on her forthcoming album, is currently in the studio working on new music with songwriter/producer Chris DeStefano.

 

  • Evans will celebrate his first U.S. record deal by playing a show at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday (5/19) followed by a performance on Saturday (5/20) at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Café.
  • Kelsea tweeted after her fiancé’s deal was announced, “Couldn’t be more happy or proud of this human. So patient, so humble, SO talented. Excited to ride the roller coaster with you babe.”
  • Before his new U.S. deal, Morgan had been signed to Warner Music Australia since 2012.

 

BREAKING: CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced

Brett Eldredge appeared on NBC’s Today show on Tuesday (5/9) to help announce the nominees for the 2017 CMT Music Awards. Keslea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban lead this year’s pack with four nominations apiece, while Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lauren Alaina and Luke Bryan follow closely behind with three nods each. Hosted this year by Nashville star Charles Esten, the CMT Music Awards will take place live from Nashville on June 7 at 8 PM ET.

 

  • Due to the Nashville Predators advancing in the NHL Playoffs, this year’s CMT Music Awards has been moved from the Bridgestone Arena to the Music City Center across the street.
  • Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett were recently revealed as performers at the show, with additional acts set to be announced soon.
  • Fan voting is currently underway at CMT.com and continues until June 5.

Dan + Shay “Crashes” A Couple’s Wedding

One couple’s big day got even bigger over the weekend when Dan + Shay showed up at their wedding reception in Orlando, Florida, to perform a private concert. The surprise concert included performances of Dan + Shay songs such as “All Nighter” and “How Not To” as well as Rascal Flatts’ recent Shay Mooney-penned hit “I Like the Sound of That.” The two even performed a cover of Taylor Swift’s song “You Belong With Me,” which can be seen here.

April 17th: On This Day

On this day in 2014, Dan + Shay’s Where It All Began was #1 on the Top Country Album chart.  The album debuted at No.1 on the chart and also peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The album included the singles “19 You + Me”, “Show You Off”, and “Nothin’ Like You”. “Nothin’ Like You” would also hit #1 on the US Country Airplay chart.

Additional ACM Party For A Cause Details Revealed

Additional details and performers have been announced for the 5th Annual ACM Party for a Cause festival in Las Vegas on March 30 – April 2. Held in conjunction with the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2, the four-day festival will consist of a variety of events at different venues across Sin City and will feature performances by more than 50 country acts, including Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton, Dan + Shay, Lady Antebellum and more. Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney Is Now A Father

Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney is now a daddy. Just hours ago (1/24) Mooney’s fiancée Hannah gave birth to their first son Asher James Mooney. The proud dad said on Instagram, “It’s hard to describe the love you feel for the first time when you hold your child. I will never be the same. Asher James, I promise to be the father you deserve. And Hannah, I promise to be the husband you want and need. I love you both so much. You’ve given me everything I never knew I needed. Welcome to the world Asher James Mooney. 1/24/2017.” He also posted a picture of the new family here.

Breaking: Dan Smyers Gets Engaged

Congratulations to Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers, who recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Abby Law. Smyers announced the exciting news on Friday afternoon (11/18), posting an Instagram photo of him with his new fiancée in Hawaii.  In the picture, Abby proudly shows off her new bling as a rainbow appears in the background behind them.  Dan said in the caption for the photo, “We’re gonna save all the animals together, FOREVER. I love you, ABBY LAW! (And yes, the HAWAII rainbow is real.)”

 

·         Law later posted a photo of the two sharing a kiss on Waikiki Beach along with a heartfelt message about Smyers.
