Teen Has an Unforgettable Prom Night at Garth Brooks’ Show

Garth Brooks gave one teenager a night she’ll never forget when he brought her onstage at his show in Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday (4/29). During his first of two shows at the State Farm Center, Garth noticed a teen in the audience who was wearing a prom dress and holding up a sign that said, “Gonna be late to prom, Garth comes first.” Garth then made a deal with the teen named Kate, telling her if she went to prom and it sucked, she could come back to his second show that night and shoot off the confetti cannon onstage. Kate decided to skip her prom all together and returned during his second show to shoot off the cannon while still wearing her prom dress.

  • Garth talked about the teen’s special prom night during his weekly Inside Studio G video series on Monday (5/1). The video can be seen here.
  • Brooks also posted a picture on Instagram of the two hanging out backstage at the show.
