BREAKING: Carrie Underwood Signs Record Deal With UMG

After spending more than a decade with Sony Music Nashville’s Arista label, Carrie Underwood has signed a new record deal with Capitol Records Nashville. Carrie’s new label home is one of four labels that form Universal Music Group Nashville (UMGN), which includes artists such as Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and George Strait. Carrie says of her new journey, “It’s so inspiring to me as an artist to feel this excited about the future.  The incredible team at UMG shares the heart and passion I have for music as well as the drive, and their innovative spirit has shown that together the possibilities are endless.”

While it’s unclear why Carrie departed Sony, she did have kind words for everyone she’s worked with so far. Underwood said, “I also want to be sure to thank every single person who has played a part in my recording career so far.  I will be forever grateful to them for all we achieved together.”

Keith Urban Reunites With Harry Connick Jr.

Keith Urban recently reunited with his fellow American Idol judge Harry Connick Jr. on his daytime talk show, Harry. While on the show, the two discussed being the sole males in their respective households and also played a few games. In one game titled Celebrity Swipes, Keith “swiped” right or left depending on his love for a particular topic, and in the other game, the two musicians donned a single jacket and tried to play the same instrument at the same time. The two musicians then treated the audience to an unrehearsed jam session, which can be seen here.

Carrie Underwood Duets With Her Son in the Car
