On this day in 1996, LeAnn Rimes was nominated for a CMA in the “Single Of The Year” and “Horizon” Categories making her the youngest nominee ever. Rimes would lose the “Horizon Award” to Bryan White, and her song “Blue” was beat out by George Strait’s “Check Yes Or No” in the “Single of the Year” category.
On this day in 1996, Curb released Leann Rimes’ debut album, “Blue.” The album included the singles “Blue”, “Hurt Me”, “One Way Ticket (Because I Can)”, which is Rimes’ only number one hit on the country music charts.
