Ottumwa, IA:  Multi-Grammy-nominated artist Lee Ann Womack’s Tour originally scheduled for Thursday, May 4 at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, Iowa has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 29 at 7:30 PM, due to an unforeseen conflict in Lee Ann Womack’s schedule. All tickets purchased for May 4 will be honored.

July 12th: On This Day

On this day in 2000, Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” began a five-week run at #1. The song was off of the album of the same name and reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks and Hot Adult Contemporary charts. The song also hit number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100, making it a crossover hit.

The song won the 2001 CMA, ACM, NSAI, ASCAP, and BMI award for Song of the Year, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Country song.

“I Hope You Dance” has sold over 2,000,000 copies.

June 28th: On This Day

On this day in 2000, Lee Ann Womack had the #1 single on the radio with “I Hope You Dance”. The song is off her album of the same name, which also hit number one. The song is considered a crossover hit and Womack’s signature song.

“I Hope You Dance” won the 2001 CMA, ACM, NSAI, ASCAP and BMI awards for Song of the Year. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song and was nominated for Song of the Year as well.

The song has been Certified Double Platinum.
