Kenny Chesney And Pink Hit #1

Kenny Chesney’s duet single with Pink, “Setting The World On Fire,” tops the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country Airplay charts this week, giving Kenny his 29th career #1 song. Celebrating another chart-topper is exciting in its own right, but having Country Radio respond to Pink the way they have makes Kenny even more proud. He says, “I think when you bring an artist into country, you need to play to their strengths, but you also want them to feel caught up in what we do.”

·       The song has already spent two weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, which combines streaming, sales and airplay, and is currently making its way up the Hot AC charts as well.

Kenny Chesney Announces His New Single

Kenny Chesney has revealed “Setting The World On Fire” as the next single from his new album, Cosmic Hallelujah. The previously announced collaboration with pop star Pink will hit country radio on July 28 at 5 PM ET. Earlier this month, Kenny said he delayed the release of his new album because he wanted this duet track to be on there.

·       Chesney says of the new single, “You can’t conjure a song that captures that feeling of being on the brink like this does. The lyrics are a perfect way of saying it, but when you feel that melody rise, the arrangement picking up momentum – it’s bigger than you are, and all you want to do is throw yourself against the night.”

Kenny Chesney Reveals Duet with Pink; Delays Album Release

Kenny Chesney’s new album, Some Town Somewhere, was originally set to drop this Friday (7/8), but now fans will have to wait a little longer to get the new music, as Kenny’s pushed back the record’s release until October 28. The decision to postpone the album’s release is due in part to Chesney’s new collaboration with pop star Pink titled “Setting The World On Fire.” Kenny figured that it might be a while before he records another album, and he didn’t want to wait to share this duet because of how good it is. Chesney says, “Sure, it would be easier to just leave everything on schedule, but when you have something you know is great, and it captures the best part of being alive, why wouldn’t you slow down enough to make it happen in the moment?”

· Kenny had become friendly with Pink while spending time with her in California recently, and he knew right away that her powerful voice would be perfect for this song. Chesney shares, “To me, great singers are the ones who can get inside a song and capture the spark. When you hear Pink on this song, you believe her – and to me, that’s everything the song required to come to life.”
