Last Eggs & Issues of the Season Announced

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – The last Eggs & Issues forum, hosted by the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group, will be held tomorrow (Saturday, March 24) at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa from 8:30-9:30 AM. This final session of the season will feature local residents running for elected positions in the Oskaloosa and Mahaska County community.

On the panel will be:

Holly Brink. Brink is running for Iowa House District 80. The area that is included in this district is East Mahaska, West Wapello, Monroe, and Appanoose County.

Henry “Willie” Van Weelden. Van Weelden is running for re-election to the Mahaska County Board of Supervisors.

Dustin D. Hite. Hite is running for Iowa House of Representatives District 79. The area that is included in this district is Western Mahaska County, all of Oskaloosa, University Park, and North East Marion, including Pella.

The final Eggs & Issues moderator will be Oskaloosa Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt.

After a brief introduction by each panel member, they will be open to take questions from those present, as this is an open forum.

Next ‘Eggs & Issues’ to Feature Area Directors

(MAHASKA COUNTY, Iowa) – Eggs & Issues, a forum hosted by the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group, will again be held at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa this Saturday, March 10 at 8:30 AM.

The panel for this week’s Eggs & Issues will consist of Executive Director of MCDG Tom Flaherty, Main Street Director Emily Brown, and Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group Director Ann Smith. According to a news release from the OACDG, the three will share updates about what is going on in Mahaska County and Oskaloosa. After the three are done sharing their respective updates, questions from the public will be welcomed by special moderator Andy McGuire. Free coffee will be provided by MidWest One Bank.

The final Eggs & Issues for 2018 will be Saturday, March 24 at Smokey Row from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. The panel will consist of anyone who is running for an elected office in the community, county or district.

Eggs and Issues Lined Up for Saturday

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – Another session of Eggs & Issues, organized by the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa. Attendees will be able to listen to updates from Iowa State Representative Guy Vander Linden, Representative Larry Sheets, and Iowa Senator Ken Rozenboom. After the guests give their updates, attendees will then be able to ask questions for a limited amount of time.

According to a news release sent by OACDG, this will be the last time Reps. Sheets and Vander Linden, as well as Sen. Rozenboom participate as the featured guests this season. The setting is informal and encourages those attending to personally meet and speak to their elected representatives.

This session will be moderated by Oskaloosa Mayor David Krutzfeldt.

“Thank you to George Daily Auditorium staff for volunteering to assist with the sound system,” reads the news release. “[And the] Oskaloosa School System for the use of their cordless microphones, Smokey [R]ow for the use of their coffee house, MidWestOne Bank for the free coffee, all of our media partners, and YOU, our community[,] for coming out and supporting this event.”

State Reps Take Stage Saturday for ‘Eggs & Issues’

(Oskaloosa, Iowa) – Eggs and Issues will again take the spotlight at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa this weekend on Saturday, Feb. 10. The legislative forum, which will feature Iowa Senator Ken Rozenboom, House Representative Guy VanderLinden, and House Representative Larry Sheets, will go from 8:30-9:30 AM.

A news release from the Oskaloosa Area Chamber & Development Group encourages people to attend. “Be sure to join us as we hear from our State Representatives,” it reads. “Join your friends and neighbors to thank these gentlemen for their service and to hear about all the great things that are going on with our State government.”

As with past Eggs & Issues forums, the setting is informal and encourages those attending to personally meet and speak to their elected representatives. MidWestOne Bank will provide complimentary coffee and Aaron Riggs will return for a new season as moderator.

Eggs & Issues Resumes Saturday

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa)–Eggs & Issues is back in action this Saturday, Jan. 13 from 8:30–9:30AM at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa. According to a news release sent by the Oskaloosa Area Chamber & Development Group, the first featured panel will consist of Oskaloosa Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt and Mahaska County Supervisor Willie VanWeelden. Former Sen. Tom Rielly of Oskaloosa will act as moderator during this first Eggs & Issues event.

“Be sure to join us as we hear from our City and County Representatives,” reads the Chamber news release. “Join your friends and neighbors to thank these gentlemen for their service and to hear about all the great things that are going on with the local City and County governments.”

As has been the case during previous Eggs & Issues installations, the setting is informal and attendees are encouraged to personally meet and speak to their elected representatives. MidWestOne Bank will provide complimentary coffee during this event and the staff from George Daily Auditorium has volunteered to run the sound system.

The next Eggs & Issues is slated for Saturday, Jan. 27 at 8:30AM and will feature Iowa Senator Ken Rozenboom (R–Oskaloosa) and House Representative Guy Vander Linden (R–Oskaloosa). Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt will return to the forum on Jan. 27, however he will act only as a moderator and will not re-join the panel at that time.
