On this day in 1985, George Strait won CMAs for Male Vocalist and Album of the Year for Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind. The album produced three singles, “The Fireman”, “The Cowboy Rides Away”, and the title track which hit #1 on the charts.”

The album is Certified Platinum by the RIAA.
