DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A Des Moines woman has been accused of fatally shooting her stepfather.

Police say officers responding to a call about a shooting Monday afternoon found the body of 49-year-old Anthony Hartman in the basement of a south Des Moines home. They also found 29-year-old Sera Alexander at the home.

Police say Alexander’s been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for her.

Police say the homicide is the 13th of the year in Des Moines.
