The Oskaloosa wrestling team went 1-4 and finished 4th at the Bean City Duals in Iowa City Saturday. Osky beat Muscatine 48-22 but fell to Cedar Rapids Xavier 54-30, Iowa City City High 64-14, Keokuk 54-24 and Decorah 47-31. Callan Tomlin had a huge day at 220 pounds going 5-0 including 3 falls and is now 27-3 on the season with two of his three losses coming by one point. Drew Sams went 4-1 at 132 pounds… All four of his wins were by fall including two in under :30….his lone loss was in overtime. Sams improved to 25-5 this season with 16 pins and 3 tech falls. The junior also earned his 100th career win and now has 102 wins and counting. Josh Diehl went 4-1 at 113 pounds with three falls and a tech fall, Jason Beebe also went 4-1 at 170 pounds to improve to 23-2 this season including 12 wins by fall and 5 by major decision. Talon Munger at 120, and Brady Beerbower at 160 each finished 2-3. Oskaloosa returns to the mats for a quad at Williamsburg on Thursday then hosts the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament on Saturday. Albia won the Rich Gray Classic by 31 points over second place I-35 while Eddyville B0lakesburg Fremont finished 6th and Cardinal 14th. Three of Albia’s top-ranked wrestlers picked up titles including Carter Isley who easily won the heavyweight championship recording three falls in :25, :08 and :13 while improving to 31-0 this season. Bryce Leshen improved to 27-1 this season winning the title at 145, Cardinal’s Dakota Miller finished third. Blake Lawless won the title at 152 and upped his season record to 33-2. Albia’s other top ranked wrestler at 106 Aiden Reeves wrestled up a weight class at 113 and was defeated in the semifinals by Joshua Tibbits of Martensdale St Mary’s who’s ranked #3 in Class 1A. Reeves bounced back to finish 3rd. Looking at other area wrestlers finishes in each weight class, at 106 Tyler Landgrebe of EBF finished 3rd and Storm Little of Albia was 4th, at 120 EBF’s Adam Proctor finished 2nd and Albia’s David Morris was 3rd, At 126 Alex Hanna of EBF finished 2nd, at 132 Dakota Boyer of EBF was 4th and Albia’s Dominick Morris finished 5th.

Dalton Griffiths of EBF finished 3rd at 160 while Luke Sinclair of Albia was 4th at 170, Ben Mason of Albia was 3rd at 182 while Austin Angle of EBF finished 6th, Jer McCanninch of Albia finished 3rd at 195 while Kayvin Johnson of Cardinal was 4th. And Jake West of Albia was 4th at 220 Sigourney finished 3rd at the East Marshall/GMG Duals while Washington went 5-0 to claim the team title. Sigourney Keota beat Benton 45-33, and Union 49-30 but fell to East Marshall/GMG 47-36, Washington 54-18, and South Tama 46-30. Lane Boender and Noah Boender each went 5-0 at 152 and 195. Cale Jarmes at 106 and Kaleb Reeves at 182 each went 4-1. Sigourney returns to action tonight when they wrestle Pekin. That dual will be held at the Hedrick Civic Center in Hedrick starting at 6pm.

Tri County Montezuma finished 4th at North Tama. Hunter Foubert was the lone Champion at 220, however Travis Lewis and Jaedon Probasco finished 2nd at 126 and 145. Kale Latcham and Mason Garber each placed 3rd at 132 and 138, Dustin Stoner and Tyler Thompson finished 4th at 195 and Heavyweight, and Taylor Staton placed 5th at 152.

North Mahaska went 2-3 at the Colfax Mingo Duals beating HLV 33-25 and Twin Cedars 33-18 while falling to Des Moines North-Hoover 42-16, Ankeny Centennial 48-36, and Lynnville Sully 34-27. Shaun Clark and Jarrett Stodghill each went 4-1 for the Warhawks….. Knoxville had a big day finishing unscathed at 5-0 beating HLV 51-12, Ankeny Centennial 45-31, Colfax Mingo 53-18, Newton 46-26 and a JV All Star team 69-12…. Lynnville Sully went 3-2 beating Colfax Mingo 43-24, North Mahaska 34-27, and Twin Cedars 63-6 but fell to Des Moines North Hoover 40-34 and Ankeny Centennial 48-36…Twin Cedars had a rough day finishing 0-4 falling to Des Moines North Hoover 46-12, Ankeny Centennial 27-16, Lynnville Sully 63-6 and North Mahaska 33-18

Ottumwa dominated the Ankeny Duals going 5-0 beating Sioux City North 60-16, Marshalltown 63-16, Spencer 58-12, Ankeny 52-22, and Bondurant-Farrar 68-9. Alec Clark at 120, Johnathan Morales at 126, Collin McConnell at 138, Wyatt Schlotter at 152, Joey Mitchell at 160, Isaiah Cox at 182, and Tyler Bookin-Nosbisch and Jacob Brownlee each went 5-0. Nathaniel Shoemaker and Justus Skinner were 4-1 at 106, and 145.
